The Slovak Brain Bee will take place in June in Bratislava, the capital of Slovakia. Detailed dates and the full program schedule will be announced in due course.

Test

Students will have to complete a multiple choice exam which consists of 25 questions. Students will have 35 minutes to answer all questions.
Neuroanatomy & Neurohistology

In the Neuroanatomy and Neurohistology rounds, participants, identify intricate structures from brain regions and microscopic slides while tackling quiz questions. Each correct answer earns points, and for the daring, hidden high-stakes challenges can push their score even higher – testing knowledge, skill, and nerves all at once!
Top 10 Podium
Challenge

The Top 10 Podium Session is a high-speed battle of brains where Slovakia’s sharpest young neuroscientists answer all types of questions from the judges in rounds. Two strikes and you’re out – only the quickest, smartest, and most focused make it to the elite Top 3.

Enrichment Activities
In addition to the competition, participants will have access to enriching activities such as lectures by guest speakers. While these sessions do not contribute to the competition score, they offer a unique opportunity to expand knowledge, engage with leading scientists, and build valuable connections. The full program schedule will be released closer to the competition dates.
Eligibility & Competition Guidelines:
To compete in the National Round, participants must meet the following eligibility requirements. The winner of the national round will earn the honor of representing Slovakia at the International Brain Bee World Championship.
Age Requirement
Participants must be between 13 and 18 years old at the time of the competition. Applicants above the age limit are welcome to contribute by applying through our volunteering program.
School Enrollment
Participants must be enrolled in an accredited Slovak primary or secondary school(Základná škola or Stredná škola).
Participation Limit
Each Student may compete in the national round only once in a lifetime, ensuring fairness and broader opportunities for others.
Language
The official language of the competition is English. Participants are expected to understand and communicate in English at a functional level; full fluency is not required. Correct answers submitted in Slovak may be accepted but will receive half credit.
Academic Integrity
All participants are required to adhere strictly to the Academic Honor Code.
Nomination
A formal nomination by a teacher or school is required. Applications submitted without a valid nomination will not be accepted. We recommend reaching out to a teacher who is familiar with your interest in neuroscience or science in general.
Apllication process
Registration requires submission of the completed application form and all required documentation. For applicants under 18, a legal guardian’s signature is mandatory. Registration is confirmed only after submission and official confirmation by the organizing team.

This competition enforces a strict Academic Honor Code to uphold fairness, integrity, and excellence. By participating, competitors commit to the highest standards of academic honesty and professional conduct and agree to follow all competition rules.
The following actions are strictly prohibited!
Any violation of this Honor Code will result in immediate disqualification.
Cheating
Use of any unauthorized materials, including notes, printed documents, or electronic devices.
Plagiarism
Copying or attempting to copy answers or ideas from another competitor or external source.
Unauthorized Assistance or Collusion
Giving, receiving, or coordinating help in any form before or during the competition.
Impersonation or Misrepresentation
Providing false information regarding identity, eligibility, or qualifications.
